It’s no secret Cal Poly senior receiver Ramses Barden is attracting more and more NFL Draft attention as the season progresses.
Some sites have even moved him up into the second round, such as NFL Draft Dog, which projects him going to the Dolphins (whose fans, apparently, want him at No. 98 overall).
Here’s an early stab in the dark at a team that could like him the most, though: the Carolina Panthers.
First, according to the Arizona Daily Star, Pete Russell, a Panthers scout and a former player at Arizona (where Mustangs head coach Rich Ellerson served as an assistant from 1992-95 and 1997-2000), stopped by Cal Poly on a West Coast swing.
Secondly, draft pundit and small-school guru Josh Buchanan, who previously called Barden a “potential franchise player,” and is still hyping Barden’s chances, was an intern for the Panthers last year.
Thirdly, Panthers great Muhsin Muhammad, widely respected for his size and ability as a possession receiver, is 35 years old.
What do you think? Where would Barden be a good fit? And where would you like to see him go?
