According to Sunday’s Sacramento Bee, Rio Americano High School point guard Kyle Odister, entering his senior season at the prep level, has committed to Cal Poly.
Odister averaged 13.7 points per game while leading the Raiders to a 22-6 mark last season. He shot 42 percent from the floor and 38 percent from 3-point range.
Listed at 5-foot-10 (and in some places 6 feet), 160 pounds, Odister was reportedly also drawing interest from Lehigh, Navy and Rice.
ESPN rates Odister as the 82nd-best point guard in his class and says he has “long arms, quick feet and a very soft touch out to the stripe” with a “textbook” and “extremely smooth” release.
He, along with fellow Northern California product Justin Brown, will likely be groomed to eventually replace Trae Clark and Chaz Thomas, both senior point guards.
