Colin O’Keefe of The Grizzoulian doesn’t have very high hopes for Montana’s defense when it visits Cal Poly on Sept. 6.
He writes that the Mustangs’ triple-option scheme, similar to Wofford’s (which gashed the Grizzlies for 333 rushing yards in a 23-22 playoff victory last fall), will “leave (Montana’s) young defense more torched than a Montana forest in August.”
Montana returns just four defensive starters, and will have to make up for the loss of Buck Buchanan Award recipient Kroy Biermann.
