Cal Poly alumnus Valerie Huff is in the running for California’s Young Engineer of the Year.
The award is presented by the American Society for Civil Engineers. It is given to young engineers who are making professional contributions to their societies.
Huff is nominated for the work she has been doing with local San Luis Obispo agencies, including the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board.
“I’ve been assisting developing new storm water regulations,” Huff said. “Cal Poly definitely gave me a great foundation for the work that I do.”
Huff has already advanced through two regional competitions. She is one of four people in the running for the state award.
