What happens when you take college ski bums away from the mountains? They congregate and create a club: Central Pacific Ski Club. They put their differences of skis vs. snowboards aside and unite under the love of fresh powder, mountains and adventure.
Ski Club held its first meeting at the Fremont Theatre on Thursday night, when they revealed the well-kept secret of this year’s Big Trip location. Following the tradition of out-of-state terrains, it will be held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
“I’m stoked for Big Trip this year. How often do you get the opportunity to meet and shred with new best friends in a place as gorgeous as Jackson Hole?” business administration senior Heather Williams said.
According to recreation, parks and tourism administration senior and executive board member Kaya Rader, Ski Club has more than 450 member signups this year and expects more after the reveal. Last year’s Big Trip was in Whistler, British Columbia, and 320 members attended.
