Office of the President
President Jeffrey Armstrong
Starting his second full school term with Cal Poly this fall, Armstrong is the highest level of authority at Cal Poly. The president is the main contact between Cal Poly and the California State University (CSU) System, reporting directly to CSU Chancellor Timothy White and the CSU Board of Trustees on issues such as the budget and the debate between quarters and semesters. As president, Armstrong has a stake in every administrative department, college and university organization, and said his focus is providing students with the opportunity to experience Cal Poly’s Learn By Doing approach.
Academic Affairs
Provost Kathleen Enz Finken
As provost, Enz Finken leads Academic Affairs, which covers all academic aspects of the university. Enz Finken joined the Cal Poly administration in 2012, and reports directly to Armstrong on all matters involving academic plans and policies. The provost hears from the dean of each college and overlooks the management of admissions, Financial Aid, graduate programs and the Academic Senate, among other departments within Academic Affairs.
College Deans
Each of Cal Poly’s six colleges has its own dean, whose job is to manage all aspects of the college and report to the provost. In turn, each college’s dean hears from each department head in order to manage the college as a whole.

Division of Student Affairs
Vice President for Student Affairs Keith Humphrey
Humphrey, who joined the Cal Poly administration in 2012, is responsible for managing Student Affairs and reporting directly to Armstrong. Student Affairs covers all non-academic aspects of being a student at Cal Poly, most notably the management of Associated Students, Inc. — Cal Poly’s student government. Humphrey places a high regard on openness with both students and faculty and staff, holding open office hours and keeping an open mind for new ideas for student life.
Associated Students, Inc. (ASI)
President Jason Colombini
Previously the Interfraternity Council president, Colombini is an agribusiness senior and the first male ASI president in five years. Colombini said his focus is on representing the student body to the best of his ability. The ASI president is responsible for representing ASI as a whole and overlooking the actions of the Board of Directors and the University Union (UU) Advisory Board. Elections for ASI president and all other offices occur each spring.
Board of Directors
The ASI Board of Directors is made up of 25 elected students, with multiple members representing each of Cal Poly’s colleges. Current Chair Tatiana Prestinizi is serving her third term on the Board of Directors, representing the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. The Board of Directors meets monthly to discuss university issues — one recent and prominent issue being the Board of Directors’ recommendation to Armstrong to keep Cal Poly on the quarter system.
University Union (UU) Advisory Board
The UU Advisory Board is responsible for decisions and recommendations regarding the Cal Poly Recreation Center, the Julian A. McPhee University Union (UU) and the Cal Poly Sports Complex. The board is made up of nine student representatives led by Chair Katie Brennan.
Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities
Director Adrienne Miller
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities is responsible for holding students accountable for their actions both academically and otherwise, whether that means doling out punishment for plagiarism or looking into complaints of hazing in campus organizations. Director Adrienne Miller is responsible for overseeing the department as well as leading various investigations into academic or social issues.
Student Life and Leadership
Student Life and Leadership covers a variety of student organizations, including clubs, greek life, Week of Welcome (WOW), SOAR and Safer, Cal Poly’s sexual assault resource. Student Life and Leadership works to promote all of the university’s student organizations to provide a welcoming environment for students of any background or interest.

Administration and Finance
Interim Vice President for Administration and Finance Stan Nosek
University Police Department (UPD)
Chief George Hughes
UPD works to maintain the safety of the Cal Poly campus, working with the San Luis Obispo Police Department (SLOPD) to ensure the safety of the areas surrounding campus as well. According to Chief George Hughes, there are at least two officers on duty at all times, and UPD also provides records of all crimes that occur on campus. In addition, UPD manages smaller issues such as parking violations.
Cal Poly Corporation
Executive Director Bonnie Murphy
Cal Poly Corporation is the business side of the university, covering organizations such as Campus Dining and the University Store. The purpose of Cal Poly Corporation is to have an alternate source of generating revenue for the university. Executive director Bonnie Murphy reports directly to Nosek, who manages Cal Poly Corporation along with a Board of Directors.

University Advancement
Vice President for University Advancement Deborah Read
University Advancement is responsible for managing the support of Cal Poly from alumni, parents, corporate partners and other investors. University Advancement is overseen by vice president Deborah Read, and uses the private support it receives towards programs such as the Center for Marine Sciences, PolyHouse Project and the Graphic Communication Institute.
