Ryan ChartrandThe UC Santa Barbara women’s soccer team had a pair of players score twice Sunday evening to lift the Gauchos to a 4-2 win at Cal Poly in Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
Kailyn Kugler scored in the 30th minute on a penalty kick, and in the 43rd on an assist from Genelle Ives.
Ives tallied back-to-back goals in the 74th and 75th minutes on assists from Sami Svrcek and Jacqui Simon, respectively.
Cal Poly’s scores came courtesy of Kristina Condon-Sherwood (on an assist from Leah Morales in the 54th minute) and Carrie Andrews (in the 82nd on an assist by Condon-Sherwood).
The Mustangs (8-7, 3-1 Big West Conference), who lost despite outshooting the Gauchos (10-5-1, 3-1-1) by a margin of 18-10, visit Pacific at 7 p.m. Friday.
