Cal Poly’s candidate pool just got smaller.
Current Indiana State athletics director Ron Prettyman is staying with the Sycamores and withdrawing his name from Cal Poly’s athletics director search, Indiana State University officials announced in a press release Friday.
“I am fortunate to work for President Bradley and a Board of Trustees that understand the value of a quality athletics department in a quality university,” Prettyman said in a release. “We have the best team of coaches and staff that I could ever want. Things are going very well in Sycamore Athletics, and I am very excited to be a part of it.”
That leaves current Portland State athletics director Torre Chisholm and San Diego State’s senior associate athletics director Don Oberhelman as the two other remaining candidates for Cal Poly’s search.
All candidates have wrapped up their on-campus interviews in the past couple weeks and a decision should be made soon.
