On Lindsey Roberts, who wrote last Friday that Jesus/God want their names in schools, in the pledge and on our money.
It seems a bit disrespectful to put your God’s name on state money, “the root of all sorts of evil.” (Timothy 6:10). In Matthew 22:19-21, Jesus says to “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” That lays the foundation for secular governments like our own.
Does Jesus want to be taught alongside violent history, godless science, reason and rationality? No, never. It’s the liberals doing what the one and only true God wrote in his one and only perfectly true book, the Bible. Catch my cynicism here.
We can’t use the Bible alone as a moral compass, or homophobia, polygamy, genocide, murder of atheists like me, slavery, and women like you as property would be justified.
If Jesus was a beer slamming bro of the campus Republicans, he’d want to invade Iran, claim the Geneva Conventions don’t apply to “Unlawful Combatants,” oppose any unified health care system like Canada and Europe, and would be pro-capital punishment. Note, our lethal injections are the Romans tree trunks.
As the late and great Bill Hicks was quoted here by Christopher Sahms, I’ll continue it:
“A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back, he ever wants to see a frickin’ cross? Kind of like going up to Jackie Onassis-Kennedy with a rifle pendant on, you know.”
