
The Cal Poly women’s swimming and diving team handed visiting UC Santa Cruz a 153-143 loss and the Mustang men won 155-145 Monday.
Cal Poly freshman Christina Shilling set a lifetime best in the 500-yard freestyle with a winning time of 5 minutes, 16.43 seconds.
Also for the Mustang women, junior Stacey Sorensen won four events. She took the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.53), 50-yard freestyle (24.78), 100-yard freestyle (54.28) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:40.04).
On the men’s side, Cal Poly freshman Corwin Di Dio won both the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.16) and 500-yard freestyle (4:43.77). Cal Poly freshman Don Sales won the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.1) and 200-yard backstroke and sophomore Kellen Ranahan took the 100-yard butterfly (51.81).
The Mustangs face UC Davis at Pacific at noon Saturday.
Cal Poly concludes its season at the Big West Conference Finals in Long Beach from Feb. 21-24.
