Senior power forward Tyler McGinn scored 14 points, sophomore point guard Trae Clark added 12, junior shooting guard Dawin Whiten had 11 and senior wing Derek Stockalper scored 10, respectively, for the Mustangs.
Cal Poly (7-8, 1-3 Big West Conference) nearly surrendered a 37-23 halftime lead, as independent UC Davis (2-12) tied the game 52-52 in the second half.
But the Mustangs reeled off an 8-0 run and never looked back in snapping a two-game losing streak and improving to 6-2 at home.
Cal Poly led by as wide a margin as 15 points with 2 minutes, 46 seconds remaining in the first half.
Stockalper had six rebounds, Whiten five assists and two steals, Clark three assists and four steals, McGinn two steals and sophomore post player Titus Shelton added nine points, four rebounds and two blocked shots.
Dominic Calegari scored a game-high 15 points for UC Davis, which will join the Big West next season.
The Mustangs snapped a four-game losing streak against the Aggies over the past two seasons and earned their first victory over UC Davis since the 1993-94 campaign.
Cal Poly shot 51.2 percent from the floor and was 8 for 15 from 3-point range.
The Mustangs conclude their two-game, nonconference home stand against Sacramento State (7-10), which is coming off an 88-68 loss at Big Sky Conference rival Weber State on Thursday, at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
