The Cal Poly Women’s Tennis team ended the regular season in a 4-0 road loss to rival UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, April 20.
The Mustangs (7-11, 3-5 Big West) finished in sixth place in the Big West Conference, while the Gauchos (13-7, 7-1) finished in first.
In doubles, Amit Lev-Ari and Elizeta Volodko defeated junior Susanne Boyden and Grace Olyphant 6-0 at the No. 2 spot. Tiffany Lagarde and Dominika Paterova also defeated Cal Poly sophomore MacKenzie Worsnop and seniorĀ Caroline Williams at the No. 3 spot.
In singles, junior Emily Louie-Meadors fell to Amit Lev-Ari 6-3 and 6-0 at the No. 1 spot to put the Gauchos up 2-0. Paterova then defeated Williams 6-2 and 6-1 at the No. 4 spot. Gaucho Stephanie Yamada clinched the match at the No. 5 spot after defeating Olyphant 6-2 and 6-1.
After concluding the regular season, the Mustangs will prepare for the Big West Tournament at Indian Wells in Palm Springs. The tournament will begin on Thursday, April 25 and will run until Sunday, April 28.
