After two years of construction, the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport is opening a new terminal Nov. 2.
The terminal is 56,000 square feet and features high ceilings, an outdoor courtyard and a large gate area with new jet bridges. Other amenities include a larger checkpoint area, modernized baggage claim and a concession stand post-security. The new terminal has an emphasis on sustainability, with natural materials that reflect the surrounding landscape.
The terminal cost about $40 million and will open to arriving passengers the night of Nov. 1. It replaces the existing building that is more than 30 years old.
