1. Fire briefly ignites trash can outside architecture building
A trash can suffered a six-minute blaze in Architecture and Environmental Design (building 5) Thursday afternoon. The fire was extinguished and additional units were called off after one unit arrived.
2. Cal Poly receives grant to assist underprivileged engineering students
Approximately $618,815 was granted to Cal Poly from the National Science Foundation (NSF) on April 17. Its funds will go toward assisting underprivileged engineering students.

4. Men’s golf finishes 8th in weather-shortened Big West championship
Disruptive winds on Tuesday and a canceled final round in the Big West Conference Men’s Golf Championship left the Mustangs with no chance of a comeback. “We’re a young team,” freshman Justin De Los Santos said. “This year was a learning experience. We now have time to improve.”
