SLO Brewing Co. hosted Aaron Carter Thursday night, along with three opening acts of early 2000s bubblegum pop.
The results were pretty questionable: usually, instruments are a necessary part of a performance — but don’t tell any of the openers that. Following the autotune, matching blond haircuts and bleached denim jackets, Carter appeared onstage before a sea of bedazzled iPhones and the millennials holding them.
After the performance, Mustang News caught up with Carter. Here’s what he had to say.
1. On the SLO Brew audience:
“I’m gonna tell you how it is, I’m really going to miss you guys.”
2. On his music:
“I want candy.”
3. On his seriousness as a performer:
“I went to an off-broadway play, and I did over 500 performances.”
4. On San Luis Obispo:
“I absolutely do love it. The girls (of San Luis Obispo) are so smoking hot.”
5. On his upcoming music:
“It’s gonna encompass more of the new stuff, and we’re gonna tap into some of the old stuff to refresh their memory.”
6. On what he listens to:
“The Rocky movie score, I listen to that. I love the score of Rocky.”
7. On what he watches:
“We’re all Netflix people.”
8. On Team Edward or Team Jacob:
“Team Edward.”
