This year’s Avila Beach Party featured various performers including NERVO, TastyTreat, Manufactured Superstars and Cash Cash at the Avila Beach Resort this past weekend. Here are five things you missed.
1. The headliners of the evening were Australian twin sisters NERVO. The duo is well-known for its singles “You’re Gonna Love Again” and “Hold On,” but took the crowd by surprise when it played “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” from the movie “Kill Bill.” Not your typical song to remix, but it was a definite highlight during the hour-and-a-half set.
2. This sign.
3. EDM group Cash Cash asked everyone in the audience to get their phones out to “Shazam” its newest single. The single was good … but nothing like “Party in Your Bedroom,” which Cash Cash didn’t even play. In case you forgot what happened in 2009, click here.
4. Kandi. A lot of Kandi. Rave culture made its way to Avila Beach, with a multiple attendees showing off their intricate and colorful beaded accessories. PLUR on.
5. Manufactured Superstars started playing Oasis’s “Wonderwall,” and the entire crowd helped the DJs finish the words. “And after all, you’re my wonderwall.”
