1. Custom printed T-shirts
Custom printed T-shirts were available outside Boo Boo Records this past April 19 for Record Store Day. The first customers in line received their T-shirt for free.
2. Mingling
While Record Store Day is a celebration of independently owned record stores, it bears a similar resemblance to Free Comic Book Day. Music lovers conversed at Boo Boo Records, bonding over their love of vinyl.
3. Dedication
This year, Boo Boo Records dedicated the day to customer George Kovacic who passed away this past week. Kovacic always supported local music at Boo Boo Records, and said his favorite day was Record Store Day.
4. Boo Boo Records Owner Mike White
White said Record Store Day is the best way to support local independent businesses.
5. Music lovers
Eager customers sifted through hundreds of CDs and vinyls in hopes of finding exactly what they were looking for.
6. The Booker Tease
Los Osos rock band The Booker Tease performed at Boo Boo Records at 1 p.m. and brought a massive, lively crowd.
7. John and Fred
Former Boo Boo Records owner John Huffman (left) and music specialist Fred Friedman hung out at the store and helped customers find the perfect record to take home.
8. Free music
Free CDs. ‘Nuff said.
9. Tasha and Frank
The Shy and Wild lead singer and former Boo Boo Records employee Tasha Powers and Boo Boo Records employee Frank Hayes shared a laugh while setting up for the show.
10. Trapper Shannon
The Carnies lead singer Trapper Shannon supports Boo Boo Records and purchased a few vinyls.
